Maya Mathias (1967) is originally from India, was born in London and grew up in the Netherlands. After studying business economics at the ‘Vrije Universiteit’ in Amsterdam, she worked for development organizations in America and West Africa and training and consultancy firms in the Netherlands.
Maya learned the training profession at the renowned training agency ‘Circon Group of Companies’, where she followed an intensive training course for trainers. Circon was one of the first training agencies in Holland to work with professional training actors in management and skills programs.
In 2005 Maya emigrated to Curaçao with her family. Her training assignments in the Dutch Caribbean include programs in the field of customer service, professional and personal development, communication, leadership, coaching, team building and dealing with difficult and aggressive behavior.

Maya Mathias (1967) is an active member of her community. Through her work for the GreenKidz Foundation and her membership of Rotary Club Willemstad she contributes to the development of her community and the empowerment of its youth.
As the director of the GreenKidz Foundation Maya develops modern educational programs about plastic waste, plastic soup and the principles of Reduce, Reuse, Recycle & Refuse. These programs have reached thousands of children, teens and teachers in schools and universities on Curaçao.
As a Rotary fellow Maya takes part in many fundraising activities and hands-on-projects to empower her community. In addition she stimulates talented teens to explore and develop their leadership potential through the worldwide Rotary Youth Leadership Program.

In 2005 Maya immigrated to the Dutch Caribbean island of Curaçao with her family where she started her company Smart Works focusing on professional training and writing.
In 2015 she set up the GreenKidz Foundation, together with Ivonne Zegveld, aiming to change the mindset of generations and develop learning materials for students in primary and secondary education.
In 2020 Maya joined her husband’s company and became part of the Balance Consulting Group, taking on the challenge to lead and grow its new unit Balance Blended Learning.
